Recent Experience

2018 - 2025 Design System

Project / engineering lead for the Design System documentation website. Performed several platform changes as team needs evolved. Currently this is a GatsbyJS website with a primarily MDX content source, which provides self-service support for the Design System to our users across all global product teams.
Hired to lead transition of the Design System from Engineering to UX. Conducted global qualitative research with internal UX and Engineering users to understand the pain points of the previous design system and created the system architecture of our new theme-aware and composable React-based Design System.
Built and launched Indeed.Design a marketing focused design web resource which was part of the company wide Super Bowl LV (2021) advertising campaign. Project was launched globally with zero hosting issues under a tight deadline.
Founding member of the internal Documentation Guild. Led multiple advocacy campaigns to improve the quality and breadth of documentation inside of Indeed. Worked with leadership to create performance evaluation metrics to incentivize good documentation practices. As part of a company wide focus on Inclusive Terminology, worked with product and platform teams to generated organization-wide impact. This impact included over 100 Closed tickets as the product organization updated terminology usage in code and documentation, and platform level workflows gained the flexibility to use inclusive terminology.

2016 - 2018 Enterprise Applications

Technical product ownership for internal engineering, including Kanban backlog management, story creation, and managing stakeholder priorities.
Development and migration of legacy backbone internal systems that provide data flows, API endpoints, dashboards and command line interfaces to the production tech stack, using Drupal 7/8 and Symfony, with no lost data or transactions.
Large migration projects including the upgrades of over 40 codebases from PHP 5.6 to 7.1, and moving 12 active website codebases to a unified Docker local development environment from varied Vagrant environments.

2014 - 2016

Lead support engineer, responsible for ongoing maintenance and new feature development for a dozen production client websites, as well as the supervision and mentorship of junior engineer staff and support contractors.
Front and backend work including responsive theming, custom WYSIWYG elements, custom modules.
Streamlined and maintained the development and deployment workflows across mixed hosting platforms (Pantheon, Acquia, Black Mesh, Heroku, bare metal) and site build methodologies.
Responsible for a wide variety of technology, including Drupal 6/7/8, bespoke node.js applications, SaaS front-end frameworks, and Solr search instances.

2012 - 2014 Technology Integration Services

Lead developer for all public facing library websites. Responsible for maintaining the flagship Drupal website, a 20 site Wordpress installation, and dozens of HTML websites averaging 1,000,000+ combined monthly views.
Successfully migrated the flagship library website to Drupal 7 while guiding the adoption of critical technologies and standards, including responsive design patterns and a GitHub development and deployment workflow.
Prototype development of physically interactive library elements including digital signage, a study space availability system and an arcade-style Tetris console using a custom control interface.

2011 - 2012 Institute for Public School Initiatives

Technical development of online coursework for K-12 students and teacher professional development using the Epsilen LMS, Adobe Captivate and HTML5 / Javascript based interactive elements.
Responsible for the visual consistency in our products through Adobe Photoshop master compositions and CSS styling, now deployed in schools across Texas.
Recorded and edited video and audio elements for multimedia components and launched an in-house video hosting solution complete with accessibility features.

2009 - 2011 Texas Student Media

Converted five student media properties to cloud hosted Drupal and Wordpress websites with an in-house advertising platform and in-house video hosting platform to reduce reliance on external partners and increase overall revenue.Provided strategic planning for the web and social media presences of the media properties to the student managers of the media properties.
Supervised and trained a team of student web developers.

2007 - 2009 Dept of Germanic Studies

Supervised a team of 25, including quality assurance monitoring and ongoing training.
Managed the daily operations of the call center on a rotating basis, supervising 200+ employees at peak hours.
Created training materials and administered training for new hires and existing employees with weekly classes of 10-20 students.
